A conversation series

After the
Condolences™

Honest conversations about what remains after loss—after the funeral, after the calls slow down, and after everyone else returns to their lives.

After the Condolences, A Conversation Series

We make room for what remains.

01

About the series

A place for the truth
that comes after.

After the Condolences™ creates space for people to remember those they have lost and speak honestly about where they are in their grief journey.

Through video interviews, audio conversations, and personal voice notes, people will share how they are coping, managing responsibilities, and navigating lives changed by the death of someone they love.

The series will also provide practical information about responsibilities families may face before and after a loved one dies.

“There is no single way to grieve. We do not rush grief toward closure.”

Ways to participate

Your story.
Your comfort level.

Not everyone is ready for the same kind of conversation. Participants may choose the format that feels most comfortable.

An on-camera conversation centered on your experience and where you are now.

02

A complete conversation shared without requiring you to appear on camera.

03

A shorter reflection recorded privately, in your own time and in your own voice.

Participation is voluntary and unpaid. Expressing interest does not obligate you to participate. Additional information is provided before any recording.

About the creator

sherie b. ellison

After the Condolences™ was created by sherie b. ellison and grew from her upcoming memoir about her experience after her mother died.

What began as personal voice notes became a memoir and then the foundation for a larger conversation—one that gives others room to remember the people they have lost and speak honestly about what life has been like since.
